As a current LJ user, THAT would be vastly better than the Six Apart management...

I would like to see what brad does next, livejournal was more flexible than facebook, lighter than myspace and deeper than friendster, then sixapart took over and shelved all the great things coming to livejournal.I think i would rather just stick with livejournal till there is a worthy successor, even though it's a shadow of what it once was, it's still lightyears ahead of the rest.

Nope. Not in California. "Pursuant to Section 2870 of the California Labor Code, the requirements set forth in Section 2(a) of this Agreement shall not apply to an invention that I developed entirely on my own time without using [Company]'s equipment, supplies, facilities, or trade secret information except for those inventions that either: (i) relate at the time of conception or reduction to practice of the invention to [Company]'s business, or actual or demonstrably anticipated research or development of [Company]; or (ii) result from any work performed by me for [Company]."I talked to Brad yesterday, and he's not doing this with Google. He's starting a non-profit. He also pointed out that a lot of companies were only willing to cooperate if it was a non-profit (they didn't want to help the competition).
