Why not check out the Ars article on Wave? They give it their characteristically thorough rundown and explain all the details nicely. Personally, I'm really looking forward to Wave. Email is a s**tty way to communicate these days but I don't really like IM either. This looks like a really well thought-out evolution of the whole thing and I hope it gains traction.
