googlesystem.blogspot.com — 'Google Video has a new feature that lets you send a link to a video much more easily. Google Video already had a way to share videos, but you had to type emails and the autocomplete was barely usable. Now you can see all your contacts or just the most contacted, you can search for a contact and even get a picture for contacts that use Gmail...'

"Can somebody explain to me why Google continues to upgrade Google Video even though they own youtube?"It's called "mutually assured competition." Where one owner owns the two companies with the largest marketshare, under different brands, they can control the whole market while creating the illusion they are not a near-monopoly. It's a great way to keep a second-place competitor from overtaking you. Relegating them to third makes it very difficult for them to crawl up the market share ladder and replace you as number one.

Looks like anyone wanting to use this will need a GMail account, which would be more trouble to set up the first time than just typing in those emails.

I'd be grateful if Google could make its mail service work correctly. Mine has been unusable for about 50 per cent of this weekend!

That's a great news. I will be using it as I have an account in Gmail. But what about those who don't have an account? Will they have to beg for an invitation?
