Wow, even I could do this. One thing I had to do was extract the archived files from the original XPI file. I then made the change to the install.rdf file and then deleted the three files from the meta-info folder. After that was completed I created a new archive and then renamed it with an xpi extension.Then I was able to install it in Firefox.
