I think the point is that, sure, google doesn't make content, it delivers it, which cuts out television stations all together. Production companies could just cut out the TV execs and go straight to the content delivery companies like YouTube and Google.

Oh yes, one more thing.I long for the day of targeted advertisements on TV. When my father and I can sit down for to enjoy a Chuck Norris movie on broadcast and not be forced to watch a TAMPON commercial or see some lady walk down the beach with her mother talking about that "NOT SO FRESH FEELING". I'm scared for life.

I think Google's perfectly aware of that, but being smart and successful they have to talk themselves down so as not to intimidate the other 'players'. Of course they're rivals.
