There used to be a time when commercial interests were forbidden on the internet. And spam was a luncheon meat.

I think there is a huge difference between SEO Spam and people using Digg as a tool to promote "Useful" articles.SEO Spam is just crap. Webmasters who build websites on SEO are simply webspam aimed not at informing and being a service to those online, but to build profit. They give a crap about their users and the overall welfare of the net and only about themselves.I've seen TONS of personal websites/blogs advertising articles here and the majority I've seen have been really neat, useful or just "cool" things...thats what Digg is about..sharing and serving the lesser known sites and information that you just wont find via the mainstream sites generally. (e.g., an article in my local papers website may not make cnn.com, but would still be found "diggity" by the masses here).True spam is easily spotted though... and generally is ignored.

I did a whois on IloveDoucheCanoes.com. Just so everyone knows, amazingly enough, it's still available. Go figure.

this guy is a douchecanoe douching in a freaking river of douche. How the hell does crap like this make it to the front page.

Great, now here comes the surge in interest for Pay Per Digg...

I thought the article was good and I think that the suggestions were good. Digg users can block the spammy content, as has always been done and promote the good stuff. Perhaps eventually Google will even take Digg ranking into their page ranking. Anyways, people will always try to make money off the internet (heck, I do), the question is whether they provide any valuable original content in the process.

Spam Away Peeps

Article isn't spamming because it was created with purpose. I don't think digg will allow the spammers without being notice.

When they do post more articles, all we'll do is jam their bandwidth.http://www.xlntseo.com

Digg is a popular link building and indexing solution for new sites.http://digg.com/tech_news/State_sues_Web_SEO_firm_ ...

I consider Digg as source of Information not source of building links.I hope everyone are aware..
teekymasterApr 7, 2009
Yes, i second on you. Digg should be used to get popular and show what you got? and not for link building. Also, i don't think that PR is much important in SEO. If you are an advertiser then PR is important for you coz due to high PR people may get attracted towards you. But if you are running a site for making money via affiliates then you should focus on traffic.

Link Building matters a lot in getting high search engine rankings. And also it is the quality of the links that matter and not the quantity.
jwatson1Mar 19, 2012
I think not only digg but all good rank social bookmarking sites play big role for link building.
