So will this be like paypal? eg. can be used to pay for items over ebay? im still confused about what google checkout is all about even after that video.
Why? I don't plan on using Google Checkout. I still plan on utilizing Paypal and I'm sure there are others out there who will do the same. I'm not saying I won't try Google Checkout eventually but in the mean time, you still cannot beat Paypal for fast transactions and the wide acceptance of sellers on eBay.
Well the thing is, I would have LOVED if Google would have moved in into the exact niche or market that Paypal has right now, and that is sending money to ANYONE not only to merchants. It doesn't seem that Google Checkout will be doing this so in so, IMHO I don't think they're actually competing for that particular niche market that I mentioned earlier. Maybe in the future they will indeed move to payments to anyone and not only merchants. Only time will tell I guess.
Honestly, the only thing I ever use google for is to search. That's all I need - and frankly all this other stuff they have, to me, is an annoyance. Especially when I see every little thing they do on digg. I think the bandwagon is full guys...
No, you're right. Google base + Google checkout = google ebay. You can sell your own items on there. However, you can't sell them as an auction, just at a constant price.
