It never worked for my laptop, but it worked fine on a friends laptop. It works on some, but majority it doesn't. I can tell you from experience its a real pain in the ass and im real glad its fixed.

Google added this into the new release too. Just pass Chrome the "-incognito" command and it will start in incognito mode. I was upset when this simple feature was not included in the original release of Chrome but now it is possible.
