I think Google is losing the Midas touch. I don't think I'd buy a Google OS or Office Suite (notice, I did'nt say for certain) and trying to go after a lost cause like competing against iTunes for videos (and charging for it) is unlike Google. The videos aren't even of an acceptable quality like that of iTunes's. Although one can argue that Google's flagship search engine was itself a pursuit of competition against the already existing Yahoo and MSN engines. What are they truly achieving by releasing something like a pack of software that disses Microsoft? They come out as being sour and jealous more than anything. They should learn to do it in a subtle and under-the-carpet way like Apple has been doing it for years with patience and succeeding in some ways (although not in the computer business). They probably thought they could get on the people's good side and start charging at some point. Well, it's too early for that. This is what happens when you smell cold, crisp cash.
Foxit Reader is far superior to Adobe's Acrobat. Why did Google choose to add one of the most bloated and performance lacking pieces of software available? It's truly beyond me. For those of you not familiar with Foxit Reader, it is a small, fast and clean .PDF reader that is available for download here: http://www.foxitsoftware.com/foxitreader/foxitreader.zipNo longer is there a wait time to view .PDF files if you don't already have an instance of your reader open. Ever since installing this software, I'm able to view 25Mb+ .PDFs in fractions of a second. Take my recommendation and download this application. Completely remove any sign of Acrobat, and you will be extremely satisfied and never look back. Foxit doesn't even require and install, simply run the .exe from the .zip and you're good to go!
running an .exe file - it is already one of the main steps of any installation process!)) by the way. i can say the same things about Iceni's product. really easy-to-implement ! i haven't tried the product named above, but i started using Iceni, as well instead of Adobe on advice of my friend. you can look up here for more info http://iceni.com/ i'm still satisfied with it.
Who want's any software auto-updated? Newer versions are not always better versions. I want to decide what to update and when to update it. And I hate it when software that has no reason to use network (internet) connectivity sends data to the publisher on every launch. This is all about data mining for google to use for refining its ad targeting. Installing google pack or google desktop is like letting google but a keystroke logger on your system.

I'm just glad I'm not the only person to find it useless.
