pcworld.com — Google joined a handful of other companies by announcing that it is delivering mobile banner ads. Companies that use Google's AdWords to advertise online now have the option of displaying a banner ad on cell phones instead of simple text. Google includes a text line under each banner identifying it as an advertisement.

Google just offers the possibility to display ads on mobile platforms. This is nothing new. Other companies have been doing that for a while, people just happen to randomly hate one of the best companies in the world because they got "power". Humans are jealous by nature I guess...I agree though, advertising (as it is today) is silly and annoying. But hey; who am I to stop enterprises to get money, I get mine that way aswell as website designer.

They didn't mention what you get for viewing the ads. I don't want ads on top of my $150 a month I pay on my cell phone. Give me my service for free, then we'll talk.

More like, this service had better cost the advertisers an insane amount to put the ads up.

It's not the same as sms spamming. Here you have a choice to NOT visit the websites that have ads.. SMS spam I can understand since it's just that, spam. By your logic people using ad blockers are also thieves since they are 'stealing' info without seeing the advertisements. I obviously don't believe the previous statement.

Yeah can't even pay $10 for a movie wihout seeing 45 minutes of advertisements anymore. Can't watch sports without some sort of ad every 3 seconds "This replay brought to you by AT&T!" etc. it's getting ridiculous.
