This would be great if the average tourist got an internet connection on their phone while abroad. My iphone wouldn't pick up local carrier signals so roaming wasn't even an option and wifi is few and far between in most places, just like in the US!
Just like how I bury all the iPhone app announcement garbage, I'll do the same for Android. We don't need to know every time a new piece of software is written for every phone.
Seriously, the iPhone already has several apps like this, ( NearBy, Urbanspoon, who's around, etc ). It's not like this ground breaking technology or something completely revolutionary. I'm glad to see the Android folks will enjoy the benefits folks with iPhones had for some time now...
