googlewebmastercentral.blogspot.com— After two years, George W. Bush is no longer tops on Google for "miserable failure" after Google makes an algorithm change to defuse this and other types of Google bombs.

Is it how "people" felt or how strong webmasters and blogsters felt?Really, Googlebombs represented a small minority of the actual populations vote.Maybe not with respect to George Bush but "worst band ever" pointing to creed was definitely a good example. They sold millions of albums. Made the billboard yearly top 100. If that's was truly the "public's" opinion then that wouldn't have happened.Googlebombing was strict manipulation and nothing more. Google figured this out seeing how the blogs link together and how the text is the same.If you have something to say, say it and google *WILL* pick it up. Beliving in Google bombing being popular opinion is just ignorance.**note. I don't like Creed.. =)

I've also done a write-up about this at Search Engine Land after talking to Google, and you'll find before-and-after screenshots here. Story is here:http://searchengineland.com/070125-230048.php
