torrentfreak.com — The immensely popular BitTorrent client uTorrent recently added a Google powered torrent search engine to its website. This added search capability used Google’s custom search program and allowed visitors to search for .torrent files on Google. For reasons unknown, Google appears to be blocking the use of its search technology on the site.

Everyone is caving into the f**kers overnight - so spineless and very sad that some corporate bullies can insidiously and successfully destroy the underpinnings of the internet.

"I don't understand how anyone can justify it morally."I don't understand how anyone can justify copyright law morally. Copyright law, by definition, is a form of censorship. If I have something sitting on my computer, and it isn't privacy/security-sensitive content, I should be free to send copies of that content wherever I want. Restricting that right is a form of censorship.Artists don't need copyright law in order to be successful. Look at people like Jonathan Coulton who have released all of their music for free and yet still make a good living on it (in Coulton's case, he said he makes more money with his music than he ever did as a computer programmer).

It's hard for them to stay neutral if we drag them into it.

@vinod1978 - "The company's best interests are ALWAYS more important the people's interest - if it wasn't that way everything would be for free!"----------------------------------------------------------That's not remotely true. If the product isn't free to create, then giving it away for free isn't sustainable. I don't know about you, but I'd like to continue to receive certain products like food and electricity. I'm happy to pay for the materials and a ample salary to those people who provide for those things I like. I'm not happy to pay an inflated cost to line the pockets of CEOs and shareholders (text messaging at 20 cents each, for instance.)
