I saw that too, and was a little freaked out. Whew. Although now that you say it, I'm surprised that Google hasn't made more forays into the world of gaming.

YES for solar thermal, which is different than solar panels. Both can help with the shutting down of some fossil fuel plants. This is definately a step in the right direction.

Much like coal, it's non-renewable, but modern nuclear power plants would be a good stopgap until we get other solutions online.
