I didn't see Ultima 4, Test Drive, Archon, Frontier 2: Elite, or Firepower, some of my favorite games that pushed the old Amiga 1000 to the limit.. I also remember an early Epyx game that used a big black hole and was kind of vector-looking? Two players would spin around it trying to knock each other into the hole before it collapsed..
Exactly, Amiga was great, but saying it never crashed is a joke. From what I've heard it's operating system suffered from memory fragmentation issues pretty badly, which caused most crashes. After using it for so long, it was bound to eventually crash.
The best horizontal shooter was Project-X from Team 17. It required 1meg of RAM (i.e a 500+) and pushed the system to it's limit. The graphics and sound were superb. The same team also gave us other classics such as Alient Breed and Full Contact.

I had an Amiga 600... No one mention the game Jaguar XJ220? It was an fantastic race game. You can play with 2 players in a career mode around the world, win money, make repairs.. That game was so deep, even in a long time ago!! The intro song, was great also! One of the best soundtracks I ever listened in a game!!!Game in action...http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=amiga+ ...Sound track..http://video.aol.com/video-detail/jaguar-xj220-sou ...Jaguar XJ220 for ever...
