concierge.com — ...Whether it's to show us that anything we can do they can do better or simply creeping authoritarianism, the British government is putting into effect a hugely expensive plan to collect a wide variety of data on every traveler daring to enter or leave those sceptered isles, whether by air, sea or ground...

There are many other places you won't want to go to either : from the site: Is the United Kingdom at the forefront of this technology? No. Other countries already operate similar systems so we can learn lessons from these systems. Are similar schemes running anywhere else in the world?Yes. USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. How far advanced are other countries?Australia is the most advanced and have been operating their system for a number of years. Schemes in the USA, Canada and New Zealand are still under development.NOTE - unlike the US or Japan the UK is not fingerprinting anyone. Now that the government has lost millions of records of benefits given to children by losing 2 CDs, data protection will be given a higher priority (or more resignations will follow). As long as only passport information is retained, and no other information, this seems a reasonable system to put in place.

Greatest Prime Minister we've ever had and sorely missed at the moment!

No, Northern Ireland is part of Great Britain. The Republic of Ireland is a whole other country.

Man the UK is getting creepier by the day. I am quite glad I don't live there, it's outright scary in my opinion. There are cameras all over the place.. The UK is slowly stepping towards losing their freedom.

This may be true but the UK in general keeps doing this kind of stuff, with all the cameras and such. I'm not saying the US doesn't have problems, of course it does. But in general the UK just keeps becoming creepier in this regard.

Read the comment again you ignorant prick - tourism FROM the UK is falling, even though your comical "currency" is so cheap now. I'd expect tourism from the US to fall as it now costs so much more for you to buy any real money.
