old tv just means having to get an adapter with channel cord to audio video and then going into the box with the audio/videoit would merely just be converting the signal for the older tv

Broadcast only TV will die, yes, but TV itself is here to stay. Will probably become more on demand centric, with special live broadcasts / streams.
