@kb0xNice attempt at looking smart, but you failed. Your corrections are moot as the post wasn't--nor was meant to be--a complete sentence anyway. Standard stylistic rules need not apply. The author was breaking grammatical constructs anyway; failing to capitalize becomes more of a choice. Now, if you really wanted to correct the user's statement you would have written:Loose - a description of your mom.Lose - what you will do with your virginity in 2020.A colon(:) would also be acceptable in place of the hyphen(-), but since we are not dealing with complete sentences, and thus rigid grammar, my style choice is the hyphen as I feel it provides a more "dictionary"-like feel and is more fitting for the situation. The subordinate clauses are punctuated as they are for the same reason. A capital letter would make it appear to be a sentence, which it clearly is not, but the lack a trailing period would make it appear incomplete. The moral of the story, of course, is that grammar is not as rigid as you'd have it be and that you are a very big ass--although perhaps not quite as big as me. ;)
I for one am sick of Godaddy advertising on almost all of the podcasts I subscribe to. Wish they would just get lost, or at least scale back the ad blitz.
So I found this situation particularly interesting as I have several domains hosted with Godaddy. Therefore I decided to do some research in an attempt to put this into perspective. Something to ponder.... Google has no record of this site. This means that it hadn't been up long before this situation started. From my experiences Google will index a site with in a month. Logic would lead you to conclude this wasn't an active site. The twist to this is that running a search for link:www.familyalbum.com will show that there was a few sites linking back. It is important to note the quality of these sites, as well as the strange linking behavior. My next thought was to check Alexa as I know Godaddy and Google have a partnership so perhaps Google is notified ASAP.Alexa shows a slightly different story... The site was up long enough to get a cached image created(looks like it was what I call a proxy-parked page). This takes a little bit of time as Alexa isn't as powerful or fast as Google. Digging deeper into Alexa's info you find that the site has no stats for there 3 month marker. Another words logic would again tell you that this isn't a site that has been around long or is booming with business. So why does this matter? Well seems like an eyebrow should be raised when someone registers a domain and with in a few months changes their email address. As I stated before I have several domains under management and I know that the most important thing is updating your information. ICANN has strict policies to prevent scam sites and link farms/rings. It appears to me that Godaddy acted within those boundaries. I have seen many people say that they should have called first... Perhaps this is true but in the scope of how many domains there are and considering GoDaddy is the number one registrar this would be an impressive task.I am not trying to defend them although I think they maybe getting more flack then is warranted. Instead I wanted to give some items to consider before you judge.
ok, so maybe i dont get the TOP 10 listing...but why dont i see this listed in any top 10 category? in TECH NEWS, there is only one post higher with 3400+
Please be very careful using GoDaddy, and where possible - Don't use GoDaddy!!! I had what I considered a "good" domain name and I used GoDaddy to check the availability of it. The name was available, but the next day when I went to purchase it GoDaddy owned it. They were prepared to sell it to me for $500 today instead of the $6.95 it was on offer for the day before! I wish I had my credit card with me at the time... This is a very low practice that GoDaddy is participating in, and the internet community needs to pass on a big message that tactics like this are unacceptable. Please spread the word to avoid rip-off merchants such as GoDaddy. I am not pushing my own agenda here and will not name any sites I find to act with integrity, but ask you to only recommend sites that you can trust to your friends and family. Since being burnt by GoDaddy I will no longer use their domain name search, and suggest people simply type the name they want to check the availability of into the URL box of their browser to see if a page comes up. This way, nobody is keeping track of what is being searched for and purchasing all the good ones, leaving nothing for everyone else. GoDaddy = BAD, anyone else = Better!
Hello every one Today i find a new domain name which i had booked blocked by godaddy. The domain name is http://www.buynsellcontent.com This is very unfair of their part to do that. I had created an account with them and paid using my paypal account but they have send me a mail that my domain refund has been processed. I checkmy paypal account and the money is refunded back. I am not even able to login into my account. Is this unfair or what. It was my mistake i never searched for something like this. I should have searched, my bad luck i didnt find this post before or i would have never registered with them. Please somebody help me, how can i get my domain name back. This is also a warning mail to all those people out there who still trust in go daddy. They may not have taken it yet because they didnt think it was valuable yet. If anybody wants proof i can show it to them. Where can i complain, what are the legal ways to get my domain name back. This should not be allowed. rgds jason thomas
I moved all my domains away from GoDaddy about six months ago. I had a number of issues when dealing with customer service. At the time other domain resellers offered better prices and options. It's worth doing some research before investing too much with the wrong company.
I have problems with godaddy now, this is what i got in my email: "Error: Could not get contacts needed for adding domain" how incompetent is that? I have 5 domains registered with them, geeeez with the same cc,same address, etc. This has over 3000 diggs but it doesn't appear in google serps for "godaddy digg".Strange!
yeah, I also faced such a problem when i checked with domains like aaxxx, abxxx.com totally 676 combination with godaddy registrations, just found two but with in few minutes both were grabbed by some one else, but i feel they are not worth, after that i wont check with godaddy. I wish myself to start domain registration at my domain broker site http://www.collisiondomains.com as i receive more searches for keywords like domain, domains
I thinks that being a reliable GoDaddy earnings are too high! The post like this one can signifficantly demage their reputation! So that, I think this story is not true!
Well, you want CHEAP so you will get GoDaddy-like service. Anyone charging $10 or less is making money some other way... ICANN sells the damn domains for $9 + change already (unless you're accredited, and then it's a little cheaper... but accredited is NOT a guarantee of good service riiight [godaddy]).Tucows is a serious well-run Registrar. I only use Tucows, or resellers of Tucows.
i once fell for the love trap of godaddy.. more like goscammy.... i paid 18$ for domain privacy... one .com domain name cost me more than 35$ one stupid domain. bulls**t multiple sell options.. no i dont want hosting, no i dont want site tools, i just want a domain!... since then i've been using http://www.netfirms.com , free privacy domain only cost me 6.95!!!!!!!!!
