Configure your language to English (US) and you will magically find it. Still it wasn't translated to all languages, it is there but you don't see it :P
I changed GMail's display language from English (UK) to English (US) and IMAP was there for me to choose. The link disappears if I switch back to English (UK).
I have forwarded all my email alias to gmail. On some of my email client, I configured to use gmail smtp only to find out that they are overriding the sender's address with the gmail account that logged into smtp server. So when the receiptiant hit reply, they would actually reply back to gmail. So, remember not to use gmail's smtp if you don't want anyone that you are only using gmail for backend.
