I have Gmail, Windows Live Mail, and Yahoo! Mail Beta.Yahoo! Mail Beta is definitely head and shoulders about them all, with Windows Live Mail a close second. The reason they are both better is mostly because they emulate a traditional Outlook-style mail client layout and features, which I prefer.I have never worked efficiently with the GMail interface and it's klunky and outdated compared to the new Yahoo! and Live offerings. Even before the new Beta Yahoo! Mail was much better - I think people got a little too excited over the Ajax and storage features of GMail.
Luckily I don't have to. Gmail has worked wonderfully for me as my main mail client for the better part of a year now. I connect to it with Outlook once a day and my mail is on my computer as well as on line if I need to access it elsewhere. Other people may find it doesn't serve them well but I have yet to complain about Gmail. It works for me.
how to you get hotmail with 2GB or 250mb???I only have 25mb and it sucks, keep getting mail about deleting something ´cos my account is full.but gmail on the other hand is "THUMBS UP"
Gmail is undoubtedly the best...I can chat with my friends in my college library with my mailbox open coz no messegers r allowed to be put on da systems. You dont need a seprate messenger like yahoo and hotmail needs. Also Gtalk is a clean messger no ads nd hardly any memory usage unlike yahoo
@doodlebumI represented in my post that Yahoo! Mail Beta was my *preference*, I certainly wouldnt call anyone 'wrong' for their choice of email app, or any other app.Its funny because I doubt any of the people who modded me down have even used both Windows Live Mail or Yahoo! Mail Beta yet.Dont forget that PC Magazine did a very detailed comparison of the *original* Yahoo! Mail and GMail and Yahoo! Mail still came out on top.Personally I am not overly annoyed by any of the advertsing on any of the three services.
Free email allows access to the email from any browser... so reading something you already read is there too.. with outlook chances are you are downloading and deleting from server.Using a client means the email is largely accessible from only one computer.

I just like the fact that you can configure gmail to work with any pop/smtp client.
