today.msnbc.msn.com— Elena Desserich was diagnosed with brain cancer at 5 years old. She began to hide hundreds of little notes around the house for her parents, Brooke and Keith, to find after she was gone.

Our little boy was 10 months when they found his. He's now 3 yrs old and doing well. We have to get him screened often, though, which is stressful.Interesting that your child and mine both had favorable outcomes. The mortality rate for hepatoblastoma is really high.By the way, who would digg you down on your comment?
Glad to hear he's doing fine. Know what you mean about the test days being stressful. Those days where x-rays and blood tests were done were brutal. We went for tests for years and just last year we were told that no more tests were needed. She is now considered "cured". Only a few side effects fron the chemo remain -- slight hearing loss, and occasional muscle/joint pain.Hope your experience ends as well as ours.
This was the line that made me break down:"It's been two years since Elena died, and nearly two years since they found one of her notes... until this week."

Seems like pedo bear saying " I was touched too" would be appropriate, but oh so unappropriate at the same time.

How is it not? The death of this little girl is pretty much the main reason for my lack of faith.
