plasticbugs.com — Gimpshop is a Gimp modification that features menu layouts and naming conventions similar to those in Adobe Photoshop. Photoshop users should feel right at home using Gimpshop. The newest version is now avaliable. (Macs only for now.)

I've found GIMPShop to be terribly unstable on the PC, and I am *really trying* to use it, as I love some of the scripts that allows you to easily create rounded corners and things. Can anyone vouch for the credibility of this new version on OS X, and what is your hardware if you can?

shadedream:Thanks for the info. Too bad. It has some interesting features all its own. I would think now that they've gone this far they'd port it to OS X and blow Adobe away (at least the Photoshop niche).

My Gimp.app ( <a class="user" href="http://gimp-app.sf.net">http://gimp-app.sf.net</a> ) is Universal, which is what scott based his gimp-shop build on. The os x application wrapper is ppc only, but all the gimp binaries are universal, so no performance hit. Scott, I don't believe has an intel mac to build it on, so he's not able to do a universal build of gimp-shop at the moment.

In case you're wondering, MacGIMP.org confirms that this is not a universal binary, but PowerPC only. Also, they mirrored the complete gimpshop source code here: <a class="user" href="http://source.macgimp.org">http://source.macgimp.org</a>
