I wish they discussed more about the battle between Lucent and Rockwell before the v.90 standard. Thats a fun story.

Amazing how these evolved into everyday use and life. Look at the SUPER-SPEED 56k and now look at todays 56k pcis or even the ones in video game consoles. I remember I had 56k for bible days we didnt get dsl until 2005 and then in 07 got cable internet (dsl and cable was available in our are just my parents where cheap and i was using those free aol trials. just resign up with a new name n s**t. I remember one time they actually started billing us and we had t0 call and cancel and the name i used on the account was Beef Wellington.) But some of my best years where spent on 56k and DC++. Also one summer i used dreamcast internet was an interesting experience.

If you actually read that piece and, moreover, found it interesting, just go ahead and cut your dick off. You're never going to need it.

I only remembered that for a year after I moved from Germany (dual channel ISDN; 128K) to the USA (28.8K) before cable Internet was available in 2001.I was never able to figure out why ISDN never caught on in the USA except for businesses as back up system.
