callwave.com — CallWave allows you to actually visualize your mobile phone voicemail on your computer. The free service sends a copy of your voicemail message to your email, and is accessible in an answering machine like interface in the Callwave software, you even have the ability to screen your calls and answer the call while someone is leaving a voicemail.

Now this isn't something new, I have been using callwave for a couple of months now and I love it, but now that the iPhone buzz is out and about I thought this might have more relevance on Digg, how the service works is it replaces your voicemail from your cell phone provider with their own servers and voicemail, when your phone goes to voicemail the callwave software will ring on your computer and you have the choice to answer it over the Internet or transfer it to another phone (Such as a home phone) this is particularly useful if you have no service or your phone has a dead battery as you can have your important calls sent to your home phone. You dont actually have to have the software installed to get many of the features of callwave (As most of them can be done through your cellphone such as screening calls and transferring calls to another phone, the way the screening works on the cell phone is if you receive a call and dont answer it the callwave voicemail will call you back instantly then you can pick up and listen to the person as they leave a message, if its important you can press a key on your cell to stop recording and to join in the conversation.) But Random access voice mail does need the software to be of use, although you could always just set it to send messages to your email and use that instead which would then allow you to skip the software all together, but its actually quite useful for people like me who are on their computers a lot.
