arstechnica.com— "The ad has changed, with the reference in the ad changing from a generic "Windows required" message to Windows and Parallels! " Could this be a sign of Apple wanting to purchase Parallels?

suuuure reply just before my comment posts :p What the heck happened to edit? I don't think I like digg v3....But yeah, you explained yourself better with your reply, thanks for that.
I don't think Apple will buy them. Apple isn't Microsoft, they don't feel threatened to buy every successful product/company out there. If anything I suspect Apple would love to see Parallels be successful as an example that there's good money to be made in Mac software.
Finally, someone who comes up with a logical, sensible explanation. Why would Apple buy a PC port, with shoddy interface? It's something Apple could easily program themselves. The only reason they are recommending Parallels is because it is beta software that is going to expire. Apple recommends Word over iWrite a lot and you don't see everyone getting their panties in a wad about Apple buying Microsoft. I'm not sure why this is news.
that is a stupid commercial it is so skewed especially that one. A mac can run OS X, WIndows, and Linux. However so can a Pc and i believe cherry OS, virtual machine, and other software came out before bootcamp and pc's have an asortment of other OS's that run on them. People who act smug about their macs should be shot "Oh they are so much better for design" well idc at least i didnt pay an extra $150 so my laptop could be black! or that i could have a screen too big for any application or website to truly fit into. <a class="user" href="http://www.ctrlaltdel-online.com/comic.php?d=20060513">http://www.ctrlaltdel-online.com/comic.php?d=20060513</a> this truly fits a macs description
@ SlickNicStop spreading that crap. "Parallels Workstation is a hardware emulation virtualization solution in which a virtual machine engine enables each virtual machine to work with its own processor, RAM, floppy drive, CD drive, I/O devices, and hard disk – everything a physical computer contains."It IS a virtual machine and it DOES emulate.<a class="user" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parallels_Workstation">http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parallels_Workstation</a>

"And how much computer could you really buy (and be happy with) on a 300 dollar budget?"Well, this <a class="user" href="http://www.compusa.com/products/product_info.asp?&ref=cj&pfp=cj&product_code=337497">http://www.compusa.com/products/product_info.asp?&ref=cj&pfp=cj&product_code=337497</a> was $249.99 AR at CompUSA last night (<a class="user" href="http://f.chtah.com/i/45/143882431/NationalMidnight.pdf">http://f.chtah.com/i/45/143882431/NationalMidnight.pdf</a> - the deal is over, but it might return one day). I would say that an Athlon 64 3500, 512GB of RAM, 160GB HDD, DVD /- RW, and PCI-E is no slouch, but it would still need a graphics card. Sure, this isn't a GREAT example (and it is an E-Machine...ughh), but it is an example of a $300 computer that is pretty good.
