centernetworks.com — German users are very annoyed and dissappointed by Flickr, because the are not allowed to turn the safe search fliter off. Reason for that are the Terms of Service (TOS) of Yahoo Germany. That means if you have a German Yahoo account you are not allowed to view photos that are classified as moderate or restricted.

I bet this has everything to do with that war the Germans want to pretend didn't exist. All Nazi photos are probably blocked.

Bad women?! Bad women!!!??? Dude, next time consider who's reading these posts around here :-/Hell, you can bet whenever I meet you, I'll be snotty and aloof. Jerk.On topic: Censorship by German government, my butt! As far as I understood, flickr was just too slow or thrifty to adapt to German laws and is now reacting with a shot gun although a fly swatter would be more appropriate. Gaaah, must..... stop.... reading these threads that provoke stereotypical comments... make me.... soooo.... angry :-///

"The German translators had made a very average job, none of what I call 'the spirit of Flickr', the coolness, the friendliness was to be found there."His first mistake was presuming that Flickr ever had a "spirit" to begin with. It was created to make money for its founders; now that it has done so, they have no need to put forth any effort in continuing the pretense of "spirit." There are other photo-sharing communities out there. Perhaps their names don't have enough missing letters in them to establish the required level of "Web 2.0 hipness" that some people think are required these days, but they do exist.

Oh no, I don't want to re-live that World War II thing again, even if it's a rampage on the net.
