I did something similar with Yahoo Maps for plotting my visitors. I use the same free database, but before that, I use another API that's a little more accurate.<a class="user" href="http://haugland.ca/map/">http://haugland.ca/map/</a>The reason it's inaccurate is because that database isn't updated all that regularly. ISP's can submit their information to them, but it's not often that occurs. I wouldn't expect it to be 100% accurate as it's a free service anyways, but still fairly interesting to use anyways.

geobytes.com was much more accurate. It got the location of my isp exactly right. Geotool was off by about 100 miles.

Duh, it goes by your IP, its not going through you ISPs records and getting your street address.

Another useful ip locator is at <a class="user" href="http://www.viewdns.info" rel="nofollow">http://www.viewdns.info</a> it is VERY accurate to a city/town level too!
