Apparently the alleged sniper was completely blind: he didn't see the crew, the TV van with video equipment, the camera, microphones, and so on. Or the sniper didn't know know that a TV news crew is equipped to tape such barbaric act. Maybe that savage never saw TV in his/her life? Another thing: that sniper didn't follow up. Oh yes, the crew hid in the van, which is like a tank, completely impenetrable for bullets -- probably all snipers dream to hit a host rather than cameraman that was outside...Still think it was a Russian sniper? (BTW, why Russian? not Ossetian/Georgian/Abkhasian?) My money is on a stray bullet.

The same delirium because:1. How did they know who fired?2. If the sniper shooting, then why not the rest afraid and calmly went under sight?3. Why did not hear shots?4. Why "sniper" fired only once?5. Why her hands are not visible before the "sniper" shooting?6. Why no panic? They are not afraid of the "sniper"?7. NOBODY killed 2000 civilians...Here's the part of the report from human rights watch:Casualty numbers in Tskhinvali A doctor at Tskhinvali Regional Hospital who was on duty from the afternoon of August 7 told Human Rights Watch that between August 6 to12 the hospital treated 273 wounded, both military and civilians. She said her hospital was the only clinic treating the wounded in Tskhinvali. The doctor said there were more military personnel than civilians among the wounded and added that all of the wounded were later transferred to the Russian Ministry of Emergencies mobile hospitals in South and North Ossetia. As of August 13, there were no wounded left in the Tskhinvali hospital. The doctor also said that 44 bodies had been brought to the hospital since the fighting began, of both military and civilians. The figure reflects only those killed in the city of Tskhinvali. But the doctor was adamant that the majority of people killed in the city had been brought to the hospital before being buried, because the city morgue was not functioning due to the lack of electricity in the city.

I'm sorry but the russians are RENOWN for their marksmenship. Anyone remember WWII? Stalingrad was saved by their excellent marksmenship. Hell one of their national heros is a god damn sniper. With all the news media forgetting the part about this conflict where Georgia invaded a Russian sympathetic region and started shooting civilians...I'm going to call bulls**t on this being a Russian sniper.If it had been a Russian sniper she wouldn't have finished that report.

As a Georgian, I don't think it was a sniper... pretty much any sniper round would have done far more damage than what appears in this clip. And reporters get shot all the time, it part of the hazards of trying to get news out to the world. And disgruntled people will shoot at a reporter... maybe steal the footage (for those modern news crews without the luxury of live feed). AK-47 is one of the worst inventions to those in the West. Provides primitive people (not racially, but in their industry and commerce) with a tool with very modern impact. The bullies of the West, whether they 'do the right thing' or not, now have a little kid with a BB gun, ready to shoot you in the foot.
