One thing is for sure, every time Palin opens her mouth she is only burying her political future deeper in the ground. Her appeal is to a limited group of people and there won't be a large enough consensus to support her candidacy. She has said enough stupid things that is documented that whatever platform she would have no one will be able to hear it because of the questions that would be raised about her previous statements. She has proven that she is a domestic and international disaster politically. McCain has been quiet as two prostitutes in church and Palin would benefit from following his lead.
She strikes me as totally self-absorbed, yet completely without self-awareness. She has her view of herself and of the world, and anyone who questions it is "attacking" her. She's so closed-minded that mere objective facts can't shatter the version of reality that she has constructed for herself.
She may be disgusting, but she gives many exactly what they want--an outlet for their bitterness, envy and mean-spiritedness that they have learned, had encouraged, brought out by such personalities as Pat Robertson and O'Reilly. We all have both love and hate, forgiveness and vengence in us. We've been living in a culture for too long that has both catered to and supported the worst in us. As an ex-prof., I saw the change in my students as the culture shifted and they simply shifted with it. We have to promote real education and self-awareness, teach true facts and vocally support the opposite values to shift the paradigms.

If she wanted to keep people from talking about Bristol and Levi, she should keep them off the stage during the campaign, and keep her office from making official statements every few weeks.
