Whoops, I totally screwed up that headline. General: Conservatives Are ‘Absolutely The Worst Thing That’s Happened’ To The U.S. Military

Ive only been in the Army for 2 years (well 2 years in July) so i don't know what the Army was like before this war, but its nothing like most movies make it out to be. Its pathetic how stupid and overweight so many of the soldiers i work with are. And i'm not talking about reservist's either. My unit is an active duty unit, and i cant even count how many people failed the last PT test. Not to mention the fact is that most of the ones that failed are NCO's. Its beyond pathetic. This is my first unit, so maybe its not like that for the rest of the military, and i really hope it isnt. But the standards in this day and age are pathetic. Hell, during my Basic training we had one guy who couldn't hit more than 2 targets(a MINIMUM of 23 is needed to graduate), or do more than 20 push-ups and they STILL let him graduate.

nyds- I agree with you that the military isn't what it use to be. I am a US Navy veteran discharged in 1975. I really feel that the private armies will eventually take over completely , Blackwater , Halliburton , Pinkerton and many others.
