it might not be totally new, but its like going from .net 2.0 to 3.0. there is a lot of new stuff in there that it takes awhile to figure out what it is and how to use it.... assoh, and stuff.

Well, it was made for a 2001-era machine. What did you expect?

ummm am I the only one that noticed that this is DX 9.0c thats out right now that is being compared to DX10's performance? That means there was an "a", "b" then "c" i mean seriously dont smash DX10 before its even fully optimized i mean sheesh, lets let some hardware manufacturers, Software developers, and Game Programmers, Optimize and take advantage of DX10 like they did with 9 ... i mean its not even a year old yet and already being bashed, i remember LOTS of bugs in the previous versions of DX and as with all new software there is a cycle lets wait until DX10 is ready Hardware and Software-wise and then compare it to 9.0x, oh and BTW Crysis looks a helluva lot better in DX10 than DX9 forget performance peformance will catch up with updates and patches, i am satisfied in knowing that someone wants to deliver better visuals and is going through the painstaking process of providing them, so my hats off to them as we all know that it must be a pain in that a$$ debugging this and optimizing that .... The only thing left to do is wait, only time will tell, chill out people ....

Maybe it's the video drivers that suck? Why do you think Nvidia is scrambling with now 2 beta drivers specifically for Crysis?

Good news! Nvidia now has an update that allows you to override the graphics settings of GOW. that way you can put the anti aliasing filter at 2x or 4x without having to put it in DX10 mode. It only works for their 8 series cards tho.
