@JimI agree, there is potential to make a great movie out of this, just as there was potential with most of the other terrible game to movie translations. The problem is that the industry gets lazy with these movies. If they put the effort and money into a Gears of War movie that they did with any other successful action flick, it would work. However, they are going to see this as a chance to make a crappy low budget film, that the gamer community will pay to see just because it has the same name.It's the same reason movie to game translations rarely work. When they pump out a Happy Feet video game just to capitalize on the success of the movie, it will suck.

Every movie iv eva seen that woz made from a game (Final Fantasy, Mario Bros, Doom, and Resident Evil) all sucked as if directors perpously wanted to screw them up. If game developers and movie producers paid any attention to the people who hav commented to this so far they mite find that the level of games and movies made from games would actually meet or even surpass the expectations of gamers. Id hav to admit when i saw the "Mad World" video clip i practically got a "hard on" in anticipation of this game. Although the game was great i was unsurprisingly disappointed. The game had little 2 no story, i mean i didnt even no that it was on a planet named Sera until i went on the internet just now. I only bought the game yesterday n already beatn it. Most shootem up games that are good are often to short and therefore a waste of money to buy, may aswell just hire it.Hopefully idiot producers will pay attention to experience gamers like the above and surprise us all by making a good movie out of "Gears Of War".
i think it might be good. but where will they get the actors to look like the ones on gears of war? i dunno. or maybe it will be about other people instead of the 2 main people. kinda like halo. its suppose to be a movie but who knows when.
