Well this maybe the card I will have to buy to play CrysisOne can hope that one does not have to buy Vista to get access to directx 10.To use the features on this card. That's one big card with over the top power requirements. I will have to build a dedicated computer just as a gaming machine.I don't think anyone makes a 800w Power supply.Hell I'm out of power connectors.Hell I would be out of "heat budget" for my current computer. With a pair of these sli'ed that would kill the power budget for my current system.

This is the standard release order that Nvidia has been using since the 5 series. They open with the high end card (i.e. 8800), fill in the mid-range (i.e. 8600) and (optionally) the low end stuff (i.e. 8200).

Well, sure, the 8800GTX looks impressive, but I predict that within 100 years, graphics cards will be twice as powerful, 10,000 times larger, and so expensive that only the five richest kings of Europe will own them.

Looking for for next gen. Not very interested in spending the cash to upgrade from my X1900 XTX right now though. I think I'll upgrade 6 months down the road and probably get me an AMD Radeon!

All new products are expensive. The 7800GT, for example, launched at $450, and that card wasn't using a new major DirectX version.
