arstechnica.com— Bill Gates says: "We got to get this absolutely right. If the feedback from the beta tests shows it is not ready for prime time, I'd be glad to delay it."

Ive been useing vista beta 64 bit for a while, once you turn off "account protection" or whatever, its not so bad, it runs 64 and 32 bit apps better than xp pro 64 bit did. But, Other than a few decent new features, i really see no reason to jump to it. It will be like WIN ME was to Windows 98
Hell, I've been telling them to lose those icons in the Administrative Tools section of control panel since Windows 95. But have they listened? HELL no. They're still using those Win95 leftovers for Vista Beta 2 even though they revamped the ENTIRE icon set (other than those of course). Unbelievable.
I'm completely behind Microsoft delivering a product when it's ready. Delay it if you need to in order to get it right. Then we'll have fewer comments on Digg about how they released it before it was done.

In case you haven't been paying attention, the windows kernel was what got most of the re-tweaking in the entire release.
