thinkprogress.org — VIDEO: Today on ABC’s This Week, Stephanopoulos asked if "Petraeus comes back in March and says we’re making some progress, but we can’t continue to draw down right now, where would the troops come from?” Sec. Gates conceded that they would potentially have to deploy more National Guard and Reserve forces.

He also said they wouldn't extend tours beyond 15 months, but he'd recommend vetoing any bill that mandated that promise to our troops. "Trust me but don't ask for it in writing" doesn't cut it anymore.

How, oh HOW, is adding 30,000 troops, then "pulling" 5,000, a damn reduction? Is America REALLY that stupid (rhetorical question)? It pains me to see this crap spun for so many years, when oil rights are the only reason we are losing Americans over there. If it isn't oil rights, why did Bush dismiss out of hand ANY thought of three separate governing bodies? It makes me ill to know "patriotism" can be used so easily for profit.

It is sickening. There is no other word...

Thank you for making clear that was a rhetorical question. People WOULD have tried to answer it. C'mon America, have some pride in yourself.
