timesonline.co.uk — A British man accused of the biggest military computer hack in history is facing extradition after losing his last-ditch appeal in the House of Lords today. Gary McKinnon, 42, a systems analyst who allegedly broke into 97 US military computers from his bedroom in Wood Green, North London, now faces at least 10 years in prison in the Unites States

Pentagon top brass deserves much higher sentences due to their own professional blunder!p.s.that poor guy could be financially rewarded for finding military loop holes...

he claims to have proven through his actions. Then where's the proof? To say you have proof then to keep it secret makes you just as bad as the government.Or a lier

trying? he did find evidence. the US Government just really want to make an example out of him, shut him up, and stick him in prison for a while so everyone forgets about him and what he found. he isn't some extreme hacker hellbent on world domination, just a curious guy. hardly anyone is seriously talking about what he found... it's just about him facing extradition - which is extreme - but, again, where's the real topic at hand?

yeah I agree that technology back in Mitnick's time didn't change and move as fast. Being put away for 10 years is a long time with tech. But even besides that Mitnick was all about social engineering. While he did have technical knowledge it was his ability to get the info he needed from the right people without raising any flags is how he got into systems. It wasn't that he broke down computer system walls, he just asked for them to open the door so to speak.Thats what made him particularly valuable to security companies is when he got out. It wasn't any computer secret, it was how to secure the weakest part in a security chain, humans.

he also said "his hacking uncovered photographic proof of alien spacecraft and the names and ranks of "non-terrestrial officers" "perhaps he can just claim insanity ... some grounds here I think
