What makes you think that his existing user-base was Xbox 360 owners?"no real way to verify the ..poll"? Are you kidding? It is flatly ridiculous at every level, from the methodology to the clearly ridiculous result.
The anti-MSFT fantrolls have to keep the heat issues going.you dont see them talking about the mid-2007 revisions that solved the problem... its "lets make a ridiculous poll and get some negative press" ideas instead.
I didn't have a launch 360 and I voted in the Poll. My first 360 was made in June of 06 and I bought it in October of 06. It failed. Then they sent me a "new" (read refurb"). That one failed, too. The combination of the failures with the ineptitude of the nice, but powerless, Indian people in Bangalore who answer the phone most of the time is a combo for frustrated customers. I still can't believe Microsoft screwed the pooch so hard when they designed the 360. Too bad all the games I want to play are on that console--I'm stuck with it.
I bought a launch 360 and had no problems- I thought maybe other folks were putting them in enclosed spaces or otherwise abusing the system. Two months ago while playing Mass Effect I experienced a lock-up and when turning the system off and on again experienced the RRoD. My first console death after many many consoles and handhelds since the 8-bit days. As the warranty had expired and I live in HK where servicing is a nightmare I bought a new one... only to find that my arcade games (20 of them) no longer work unless I'm online. Love the console but wish it was made by someone else, like Sony.

No, they did not fix the problem. The Falcon 360s still fail. Also, the 3 year warranty covers the RRoD problem only.

I'm kinda the same way, I'm on my 2nd unit, a refurb of course =(Games on other systems bore me. Besides that, the xbox controller is by far the best.
