peteandmegan.com— Gamestop have oversold their preorders, and it would appear the staff are getting shafted. Good luck getting good service this Christmas.

Haven't we learned anything from the release version of consoles lately? They usually have something that goes bad on them within < a year. PS2, xbox, xbox 360Just wait until the second or third batch to hit shelves. Plus by then you will have a better knowledge of what console is best and they will be on their 1st price drop.
My worthless opinion:Joe jobs like these need to have built-in perks that are worth something special to those in the job. Getting first dibs on all video games is a pretty decent perk for the unskilled gamer who ends up working at a place like this. These people are so low paid as it is, is it really worth it to have them unhappy and quit, then recycle in even more inexperienced people? The EB near where I live used to be the exclusive place I bought games, and a big part of it was how nice and knowledgeable the staff were. They were allowed to borrow and play games from the store and gave honest opinions about pretty much everything. In particular, they were really good at helping uninformed parents make good choices based on the parent talking about the kid. That EB moved and lost all of it's employees and now it's just crap. They are too understaffed to actually help anybody and basically just seem to be on drone mode trying to push preorders and extended warranties. Service is pretty much nonexistent.
If employees have to wait in line to get a preorder like everyone else, then it's fair. The fact that they're employees only applies if that makes it easier for them to get a preorder. If managers or whoever violated company policy by allowing employees first access, that would be a different story, but it's probably illegal in most places to fire someone for buying a game system.
I work for gamestop/eb games and this post isn't a joke.my other 3rd key has already put in his two weeks notice.he was going to sell his ps3 for college money on ebay.the point was made very clear to me, that they will notsell to the only employee who had it reserved. he's noteven being given the option to buy it on the first shipment.so at this point, once the sm has made all the calls, it'snot a matter of losing your job to get the ps3, but it's a matter of being forced no to get your ps3.btw, we get paid jack s#it working at gamesuck, so all this nonsense about losing your job over a systemdoesn't always apply when you made nothing for a wageand go to school full time.peace.
No s**t, I agree. Why do many of us work for the company we do? We like the company and/or we like to products the company produces. When I worked for Oakley I wanted sunglasses and if I worked for Gamestop I'd want a PS3. Not to be a complete dick, but f**k the customers. They'll be back, don't you worry.
So what if your whole store decides to buy em anyways???They are going to fire the whole store during Christmas when they need more employees than ever.... GROUP UP PEOPLE and buy em anywaysOf course... i dunno who would want one of those POS systems.... but whatever
