arstechnica.com— Games that support online play tend to generate twice the revenues of other games, as gamers flock towards games with a social experience and extended play options. Who said gaming was antisocial?

Focusing on multiplayer is also a double-edged sword. I felt cheated when I bought Halo 2 because I really, really loved the campaign from Halo 1 but I felt like they put twice the effort in the online portion than they did in developing the single player story. I'm not complaining about the game because the online was a LOT of fun, but if I want to buy a multiplayer-only game I'll buy Battlefield or Unreal Tournament or something. Even an online co-op experience was *almost* there but they left it out.
Eh? It's not because gamers are social, it's because even a game like Oblivion is pretty lame simply because the world never changes unless you specifically do something to it. Static=boring.
Online games rule! I like the Idea of social networking via games but some of these things are very pricey indeed and the social element really does not pay off. So I started a free flash game social network and it is a nice viable alternative with games and prizes.http://www.gubug.com

So, instead of fixing a buggy game, they should just throw in a kick/ban command? That argument is flawless.

Also means even games that are quick to play are entertaining because you can replay them with different players contributing. More of this please.
