engadget.com — I can confirm that globally, Nintendo is still continuing production of GameCube hardware and GameCube software." We can't help but think that the 'Cube isn't long for this world all the same, but we're always glad to hear it has a few rounds of SSBM left in it.

Ummm, Xbox isn't in production anymore...so it's basically on the same playing floor as the gamecube. To my knowledge PS2 is the only last-gen console still being produced in the US.

Xbox 'died' before Gamecube only because M$ stopped supporting it over a year ago, shortly after the 360 came out. So seeing as though the Gamecube was still the only Nintendo console out there at the time, sure, let's say that the Xbox 'died' before the GameCube, which apparently isn't dead considering it just got a Zelda title (which also ended up as a Wii launch title because it was delayed so much [or was it delayed so much so that it could be a launch title?])...Anyways, I'm not at all surprised to see a resurgence in GCN games since the Wii has backwards compatibility. The DS pretty much did the same thing with GBA games, since you kind of needed to find something to fill that GBA slot, otherwise dust would set in. I would like to see polling data on how many other DS owners besides me didn't own a GBA. This to me sort of goes hand in hand as a perfect analogy, considering the GBA is still in production and still selling (even getting another facelift on the GBA SP with the back lit screen this time) because it has the tighter form factor (at this point the price is very inconsequential). And like the GCN, the GBA is a competitent system capable of putting out some nice games (although it the cartridges, you'll either have to buy them right away when they're in stock or be willing to search around the EB stores in your area to find what you want, or just wait for the sequel).Shorter post this time.

Sony should make TVs so we can play our Wiis.

The Gamecube is still very powerful and affordable. I think that it should still be selling well, even post-Wii. I think that Nintendo should hurry up in bringing down the Wii's price if they want to get rid of the Gamecube. They obviously don't want to pull a dreamcast, where older consoles are competing with the latest hardware.

It's pretty dumb because you can play Gamecube on Wii.

Now that I only bought a GC controller for my Wii (don't have GC, but want to play some GC-games now) I think Nintendo should release a white GC controller. The Classic Controller is not fit for some GC games, and a white version of the GC controller for those GC games would really look nice :)
