I like Gaim, it's cute. But without audio and video support, it is useless for me. I use IM clients mostly for talking to my family abroad and seeing them and hearing them helps a lot.
Just hit "Buddies" and !Quit". No big deal. Generally IM clients are left to run in the background, not just logged on and off when needed so it makes sense for the vast majority of users.
It looks like it's just me but I'm already uninstalling this new version 10 minutes after installing it. And that's only because that's how long it took to stop using 99% cpu and go "down" to 45% usage. Maybe it's because of gtalk and aim or something I hope that it will work better in later versions but for now I'm going back to Beta 3. (And this is the windows version)
Same thing here, as soon as I installed beta4 CPU went to 100% .... I read on the gaim news page that its a known bug and should have a fix shortly. Until then, back to beta3.1

Click the Status menu on the bottom of the list, Select New..., Click "Use a different status for some accounts", Figure it out from there.
