alternet.org — As the Rachel Maddow Show has recently showcased, on December 16th the Family Research Council sponsored a "Prayercast" event, attended by GOP luminaries including Senators Jim DeMint and Sam Brownback, and House Representatives Michelle Bachmann and Randy Forbes...

But the ultimate problem with libertarians, that is, the US libertarians (as there is a huge difference), isn't really that far separated in ideals from the Republicans that exist today--they're just more well spoken and better at hiding their true agendas. But the ultimate reality is that they are just as hard lined about business "rights" and everything else that the current Republican party stands against. In retaliation to what the Democratic party is doing, they are pushing the consumers by driving up prices (I'm looking at you, Credit Card companies). The reality is, we need to go even far more liberal than the Democratic party, because they are sorely not liberal enough in the system. Instead of going for this bulls**t "EVERYONE MUST HAVE INSURANCE AND WE MUST REMOVE PRE-EXISTING CONDITIONS PROVISIONS FROM INSURANCE!", a truly liberal person would completely abolish the insurance industry, demolish it with a nuclear bomb (in a manner of speaking), and turn the entire healthcare system into a fully taxed-funded program for everyone. We would then open up the account systems so that taxpayers can go online and monitor the allocations of the public funds to various areas, and we can then have proper votes on where spending should go and how it's going. If we see something weird, like "$200M to the research of poison ivy", we could bring that up.But such changes in systems and accountability will only ever happen with a "regime change".

Jesus Camp makes me sick. 8 year olds being told they are "soldiers for jesus" and crying and falling on the floor. It's f**king twisted.

It'd make me happy if children didn't have to suffer their oppression and if they didn't have so much political influence in this country. It'd be funny if it wasn't affecting other people, including me and you.

A true libertarian party would let insurance companies get away with whatever they want in a completely laissez-faire system. You could argue that nothing would get done if everything was 100% "balanced". An object suspended between two magnetic poles perfectly evenly moves nowhere :P

Intolerance for religion seems long overdue. Don't forget that many 'evils' are done in the name of religion. Slavery was condoned, Civil Rights were denied, women were refused rights, and now homosexuals are being denied their civil rights in the name of Christianity...Just to name a few.... Someone has to stand up and say "this is unacceptable". We won't tolerate the lies, the bigotry and the constant attacks on science, reason and civil rights anymore. Buried for your idiocy.

On second thought... I should have used the term "Socialist" not communist. Yes the majority of diggers are are a mixture between "Socialist and Liberal" The people that bastardized the term liberal would be the Democratic party during the 1930s because they knew the American electorate would never vote for someone with socialist next to their name. I can't find the definition online that i'm referring to. The one in my political science book that I already sold back to the school had it... Oh well. Just look up classical liberalism that's what true liberalism is. Modern "Liberalism" isn't liberal.
