Interesting, seeing as how they are one of the corporations that stand to gain billions if pollution caps are put in place. Perhaps they made this statement because they are actually interested in being truthful (anthropogenically-derived atmospheric CO2 makes up less than 1% of the overall greenhouse effect -- natural variations in water vapor [cloud density] are several-fold bigger than this), even though that assumption flies in the face of modern business politics.

C02 is 1% of the greenhouse gases in the atmosphere - not a 1% factor in the greenhouse effect. Although it is only 1% of the greenhouse gas it is the most potent and remains in the atmosphere hundreds of more years than water vapor. Just because something is only present in small amounts does not mean it cannot have a massive effect. Look at anthrax - a teeny tiny bit in the air we breathe can kill us.
