techfreep.com — While rumors about a full-screen video iPod and uber-multimedia iPhone have been floating around for quite some time without confirmation, an anonymous source from Apple says that both products will be released around the new year.

Agreed. How much time until there's a 'Rumor' category on Digg?

The only time you can safely buy something is the day of its release. Sure, the product will be buggy as hell, but they'll replace it and you can brag about being an early adopter.

Again, this article's true title should read:"Full-screen iPod, iPhone Rumored by 'Extremely Well-Informed' Apple Store Employee :)

Look here before you buy an Apple product: http://buyersguide.macrumors.com/ It keeps track of updates, and how likely a new update is. Of course, I had forgotten about it when I was buying my new iMac, and bought one week before the recent updates. Yes, I took it back and upgraded.

All of my stuff is ripped to FLAC, which can't be played by half of these players anyway. And why should I have to buy from iTunes or [OTHER] and then burn them to a CD and re-rip them into FLAC just so I can get cross-platform capabilities?

It seems like everyday there is an article on the front page about the full screen iPod. Please post something when people are SURE, if not just don't post anything.

I really enjoy Apple's products but this is one that I'm a bit skeptical of. I'm not sure that Apple would do such a product being that half of their customers worldwide are in the U.S. and there are several competing cellular standards in the U.S. This would put them in the position of either choosing one standard to support, totally pissing off their customers whose carriers use another standard or, releasing different phones for the different standards. Then there's the idea of becoming a service provider themselves like Disney or Boost Mobile. All these ideas just don't seem likely.Come on US Cell carriers...agree on a single standard so we can enjoy better coverage and services!!!! (Something else that's unlikely)

I want both of these to come out sooner than later for two reasons. #1 I would love to own em both#2 More importantly, it will kill a pair of the most annoying and persistant mac rumors EVAR.

Yeah, cos an Apple Exec is really going to jeopardise theirnice well paid job for a rumour.Less Execs than there are employees, so they'd be easier to root out.
