@buddy: It doesn't defy logic, the issue here is that what you're assuming to be logic actually isn't. The insurance companies had a really good time the last two decades, inflating prices and having no regard to offering high quality health care to the masses. That's why you don't see that it's actually feasible to do it when we don't let them to get in our way.
