Pirating the official ubuntu book is kinda lame if you are an ubuntu supporter. Go out and buy the book and support cannonical to keep ubuntu going.I prefer having a physical copy of the book anyway, so i might go and buy the official book and the ubuntu unleashed book sometime.
@st0nes Licence != copyrightJust because it is creative commons licenced doesn't mean it is free of copyright. The people who wrote it still retain copright on their work, they just released it under a permissive licence.

And yes, The Official Ubuntu Book is copyrighted, but the Creative Commons License it's been given allows redistribution in any medium with attribution, legally.
