freelinuxdisk.org — The folks at FreeLinuxDisk have 20,000 orders to fulfill with an additional 60-100 requests a day. To fulfill the orders in a timely fashion they have to buy an automated CD duplication machine ($4500 CDN). The goal is to raise $4,500 to purchase "Big Daddy Tux" in order to meet with the ongoing demand for Linux disks. Show them your support!

I will be adding myself as a contributor as well. I have a spindal of CDs here that really needs to be used and this sounds like a good cause.

2) Instead of one failed device taking the whole operation down, with 5 devices you can afford to lose one. These are very very good points..I hope they consider going this route. Esp point 2!

I got a e-mail telling me that they needed more donations to send the disks I ordered or just wait until the donations catch up with the orders...but I did donate $3 to them before I even ordered a disk.I sent a reply telling them that, but no response yet.I am a little unhappy that they did not know I donated already....I don't think it is a scam, but they obviously did not count on all the requests.

Well, maybe the contributor for your area is not up to speed yet. For example, there's just two contributors for my country (Guatemala), my girlfriend and I, and we haven't shipped anything yet because we're downloading all the distros people is asking for, and we need to buy blank CD's, like 200 or more. We need money, and we're not too wealthy, so that's keeping us back, but once we get those two, we're going to start shipping and everyone will get their CD, although a bit late.

Good ieda tizz66.We used to burn and mail music CDs of live shows of the band PHISH (with the bands permission of course)...I would be glad to burn a few and mail them myself.
