thinkprogress.org — In statements made this week, former Sen. Fred Thompson (R-TN) has staked out several radical positions on abortion rights and reproductive health issues, positions that are far more conservative than even those of President Bush.

And of course, that mindless phony Fred Thompson is the worst presidential candidate in history.Well, that might not be entirely true. With the advantage of hindsight, I strongly suspect that George W. Bush was the worst presidential candidate in history, insofar as he happens to be the worst president in history. Of course, there are probably those who think that the "worst candidate" would be someone like Ron Paul, who has little chance of winning, and that's certainly a defensible position. But I prefer to think in terms of how an individual would perform as president, rather than what chance he has of scamming enough people into voting for him while his lackeys simultaneously rig the election and his corporate masters insist through their tv outlets that the illegal takeover is just and proper.

From a legal standpoint, Roe V. Wade is one of the most questionable Supreme Court Rulings of all time, according to both conservative and Liberal legal experts. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roe_v_wade#Liberal_legal_criticisms

Also, leaving all religious issues aside, what about the child's right of choice? By killing a human being before it is able to speak for itself, you are denying it a basic human right, the right to live. Why don't we also practice infanticide, since most children under the age of four arent developed enough to make rational decisions either? I'm not a pro-life nutjob, I have no problem with birth control, contraceptives, or even the morning after pill. I just think that once the fetus has actually begun to develop, abortion shoud be much less of an easily available option. 47 million American children have had their lives taken away since 1973. I've seen very close friends go through hell trying to adopt an american child, and had to eventually go to Bulgaria to find one. Why isn't adoption another viable option here?

@TimNot on digg, you dont. Sad but true.

tim620-good luck with your stance as a "pro-life" across the board person. You won't find many friends. You may be able to hang with the social conservatives for abortion, but they will kick you to the curb for the liberal anti-death penalty stance.

@periproOnce again, the liberal left has misquoted and misrepresented a comment to suit their own purpose. My comment never once stated that "sex is not for pleasure". By placing quotes around your comment, you have implied that those words were quoted from my comment. They were not. Please take the time to completely read a user's comment before firing off an incorrect and not well-argued comment. Additionally, in true liberal fashion, you have merely named-called and launched personal attacks instead of actually addressing one single point of my comment. You make broad sweeping statements concerning a "vast majority" with no substantiating references then proceed to create and destroy a straw man argument based on misquoted and out-of-context portions of an opposing viewpoint. Yep, sounds like a liberal to me. Finally, if you are going to write back and attempt to convince me that you are not of the liberal left, please don't waste your time. Liberal is as does.

Before anyone should even suggest to ban abortion, they have to get rid of all this abstinence only bulls**t they teach In some states. That's creating your own problem.
