seedmagazine.com— "French smokers are bracing for a major culture shock in the coming months as the country prepares to follow several of its European neighbours and enact a ban on smoking in public places."

I don't see what the big deal is. Everyone that seems for it seems to think that they should ban me from smoking when I want (in public places). is that not just a way to force me to stop instead of having you take 5 seconds out of your life and ask the smoker next to you "will you please put that out, it bothers me". How hard is that to say? seriously. In bars and what not, they should not ban smoking, but should have them install a sort of air cleaner, like vents, or something, but forcing someone to stop smoking is retarded. That's like trying to ban cars. I'm guessing here, but I am pretty sure exhaust from a car is far worse for you than any cigarette smoke when inhaled at the same amount. Stand next to a running cars exhaust for 10 years, or stand next to a smoker for 10 years. I would take the smoker. I still think it would be funny to ban cars from public places, like oh say, NYC or something. Bet people would gripe and moan about it than, but seriously, car exhaust is far worse for you and the environment than a stupid cigarette. So lets ban them. Oh and while we're at it, why not just ban breathing altogether, that is bad for you too.K, rant over, TY
Sure, you risk my health and I have to ask you to stop, that's the biggest bulls**t idea since the beginning of the universe. Especially since most smokers don't care unless they are forced to. I applaud these laws!
Actually I've been to about 20 different countries, and I consider myself to be quite culturally accepting. I've been to France and I've been to Montreal (which is prodominately French) and the people there were mostly assh**es. I'ts just from my experience. I could site many examples, here's a few......acting like total assh**es when you pronounce one of their names wrong....and it was something easily mistaken, like a silent T or K or some s**t like that.....another time I went to Montreal and was trying to get into a club and they wouldn't let me in because I was American. Lots more examples like this. So, yeah, they were mostly assh**es.

Then find somewhere else to toss back a beer. Support a local bar that, entirely of its own volition, doesn't allow smoking.
