thinkprogress.org— Hume said that while Foley is now "in total disgrace in his party," Clinton's "inappropriate behavior toward a subordinate [didn't] even cost Bill Clinton his standing in his party."

More propaganda from the repuglicans: how consensual sex between adults -- admittedly extra-marital -- gets compared to soliciting an underage kid is beyond reprehensible. But the rabid red-staters will eat it up.There isn't much hope for our republic when the masses can't distinguish between lawful and unlawful behavior.
I guess Foley could have called a press conference and flat out denied the whole thing. Then when he gets caught, he could perjure himself to a grand jury. That would make the two incidents more comparable. Bill Clinton's fling was what it was - but don't play it off like there was nothing wrong with it. And, it's hardly fair to apply one sickos actions to his political party members. Last I checked, the GOP didn't support statutory rape, in fact they didn't waste any time throwing him under the bus. When these stories break, we all have a nervous moment hoping that a D or an R (depending on your persuation) doesn't pop up behind the name of the idiot of the week.
Adultery was illegal under DC law at the time Clinton did Monica. So, yes, it was criminal (but the DA would only prosecute with a complaint from a spouse). Yes, people were harmed: Eileen Wellstone, Paula Jones, Kathleen Willy, Juanita Broadderick, et al. And so far, there's been no allegation that Foley had sex with anyone under age. Asking about someone's underwear on AIM is not sex.
>What Clinton did with Monica Lewinsky wasn't sexual harassment. Foley's conduct would have been unlawful even with a person capable of expressing consent, because he used his position to try to gain things of a sexual nature from his subordinates.Serious case of cognitive dissonance there big boy. Are you saying that a congressman has greater power to gain sexual favors than a president? That Monica wasn't swayed by Clinton's position as president to grant him sexual favors?
@philonous you are a stupid piece of s**t. President Bill clinton had a relationship with a subbordinate He also commited adultery with her. Oh here is the complete coverage of President Bill Clinton's video taped testimony. http://www.cnn.com/icreport/Britt Hume had a point.
griswald,"...At least the GOP forces these people out of office IMMEDIATELY, and basically forfeit their seat in the next election."But do they do it for the right reasons or for power?
